CENSUS COMPLETION – URGENT
We’ve been contacted by ‘Census Scotland’ to inform us that there are a fairly large number of residents within our parish who have not yet submitted their Census Returns.
The deadline for completion is 31ST MAY; after this date you could be subject to a fine of up to £1,000.
FLOWER SHOW 2022
Plans are progressing well for the Flower Show and Entry Forms will be circulated with the July Community Council Newsletter, as usual on coloured paper so you cannot miss it.
We would also like your help; we are planning to have a stall at the show selling plants, baking, jams and chutneys. If you are able to donate any items to this we would be most grateful all money raised will be put into Flower Show Funds for future shows.

QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
SUNDAY 5TH JUNE
The plans for the Jubilee Celebration are now going well, and you should have received your ‘flyer’ with details of the plan for the day, if not let us know and we will make sure a copy reaches you.
Do mark your diary for the day; you can come for the whole event or just pop in for a few hours, it should be a great day and hopefully will make memories for the future.
Don’t forget to decorate your house/garden in the run up to the event and of course put your Scarecrow on show during the week and bring it to the hall on Sunday for the judging.
If you currently hold a Flower Show Trophy please would you kindly return them as soon as possible so they’re all available for this year’s show.
You can drop these off at:
Kirkyett House, Ruthwell
Thanks to those who have already handed theirs’ back

MCFARLAN HALL RE-OPENS MONDAY 30TH MAY
After a 3 week closure to have the Hall Floor repaired, sanded, & re-surfaced, we’re pleased to report that ‘Normal Service’ will resume on Monday 30th May. We hope you’ll be pleased at the considerable improvement and that it’s been worth the wait. This was one of the last major tasks in our Improvement Programme to enable the Hall to carry on serving our community into the future.
